Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Pokerbase AI mobile app for iOS and Android (com.equilibriacomputing.pokercoachai), published by Pokerbase AI.

We have tried to write this the way the app actually works. Where we say we do not collect something, we mean the app contains no code that does.

The short version

• You can use the app without an account until your free questions run out.
• We use limited first-party product analytics to understand onboarding and feature use. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
• Voice notes and screenshots you send to the coach are processed and then discarded from our servers. We never write them to our server disks.
• You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the app.

What we collect

Account information

If you sign in, we store the identity your sign-in method gives us: your email address for email sign-in, or the account identifier and email supplied by Google or Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only receive Apple's private relay address.

Authentication is handled by Supabase. We never receive or store a password for Google or Apple sign-in, and email sign-in uses a one-time code or link rather than a password. You do not need an account to try the app.

An installation identifier

The app generates a random identifier the first time it launches. It is not your device ID, advertising ID, or derived from a hardware identifier. We use it to count free questions before you sign in, identify your subscription to RevenueCat, and associate first-party product events from the same installation. Our analytics database receives a one-way hash of this identifier rather than the raw value. On iOS it is stored in Keychain and may survive deleting and reinstalling the app. On Android, uninstalling the app normally removes it.

Your conversations with the coach

Questions you ask, hands you describe, and the coach's replies are stored on your device.

When you ask for an AI feature, the app sends the question and the recent conversation context needed to answer it to our backend. Your poker coaching preferences may also be included so the response can be personalized.

If you are signed in, a reduced copy also syncs to our servers so your history follows you to a new device. That copy keeps message text and the details the history list needs, and drops most internal solver data. It is stored in a database row that only your account can read.

If you are not signed in, none of it leaves your device except the content needed to answer the request you make, including the question and recent conversation context described above.

Questions successfully submitted to the coach may also be retained in a protected, first-party internal analytics log. That log includes the question text, time, locale, a pseudonymous installation reference, and, when you are signed in, your account identifier and available profile name. We use it to understand which coaching features people use and to diagnose problems. It is not used for advertising or shared with data brokers.

Voice notes

If you use the microphone button, the app records audio only while you are actively recording. The recording is uploaded to our backend, forwarded to OpenAI for transcription, and the transcribed text is returned to the app as an ordinary message.

We do not store the audio. It is held in memory for the duration of the request and never written to disk. Only the resulting text persists, in the same way a message you typed would.

Screenshots and images

If you attach a screenshot, it is uploaded to our backend and forwarded to OpenAI to extract text from it—typically a hand history or table state. The extracted text is returned to the app.

We do not store the image. As with audio, only the extracted text persists.

The app asks for photo-library access only when you choose to attach an image, and asks for microphone access only when you first record a voice note. Declining either leaves the rest of the app usable.

Permission for OpenAI processing

Before the app first sends content to OpenAI, it identifies OpenAI, lists the types of content that may be sent, explains why it is sent, and asks for your permission. Nothing is sent to OpenAI unless you choose Allow and continue.

You can review or withdraw this permission at any time under Settings → AI data sharing. After withdrawal, no new content is sent to OpenAI unless you grant permission again. Features that require OpenAI remain unavailable while permission is withdrawn.

Subscription and purchase information

Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play and managed with RevenueCat. Payment is handled entirely by the store.

We never see your card number, billing address, or payment credential. We receive only whether an entitlement is active, which product it corresponds to, which store it came from, and when it last changed.

Usage counters

We keep a small server-side record of how many free questions and solves an installation or account has used, and its current subscription state. The record contains counters and billing status only—no message content—and its filename is a one-way hash of the account or installation identifier.

Onboarding and product analytics

We record limited first-party events showing whether an onboarding screen was viewed, which setup steps were completed, how many tutorial examples were started or completed, why a tutorial ended, whether a real coach question was reached, and whether the sign-in gate or paywall was shown. These events may include the selected poker experience, format, tutorial category, app version, platform, language, timestamps, and a pseudonymous installation reference. They do not contain message drafts, payment details, advertising identifiers, microphone audio, or uploaded images.

Analytics events are sent to our own backend and stored in our protected Supabase project. A small queue is kept on your device when delivery fails and retried later. Analytics failures never prevent you from using the app.

Technical information

Our servers see the IP address that requests arrive from. It is used to apply rate limits and stop abuse. We do not build a profile from it or combine it with your account for any other purpose.

Notifications

Scheduled reminders are created and fired locally on your device. The app does not register for remote push notifications and no notification token is sent to us.

What we do not collect

• No advertising or attribution SDKs or advertising identifier.
• No third-party analytics or product-telemetry SDK.
• No third-party crash or performance reporting.
• No location data, contacts, calendar, health data, or browsing history.
• Nothing is used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use these processors because the app cannot function without them:

We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard described in this policy and required by applicable law.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate abuse of the service.

OpenAI does not use API data to train its models by default. Where applicable, OpenAI may retain chat and image content for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.

Some providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use contractual and other safeguards recognized by applicable law for those transfers.

How long we keep things

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app under Settings → Delete Account. No email to us is required.

Deleting removes your synced history, account-linked analytics, revokes and deletes every share link you created, deletes your authentication record, and clears your usage and subscription counters. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. Pseudonymous events recorded before sign-in may remain because they are not linked to the account being deleted. Anything stored only on your device is removed by deleting the app.

Your subscription is managed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us. Deleting your account does not cancel it; cancel through your store account or you will continue to be billed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data-protection authority.

In-app deletion satisfies most such requests immediately. For anything else, email support@pokerbase-ai.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Pokerbase AI is a poker strategy tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes will also be surfaced in the app.
